Regulation
Registered with the Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Rapid Care Ltd is registered with the CQC to provide personal care and other CQC-regulated activities.
The CQC inspects us and publishes what it finds: ratings across five key questions (is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led) along with the detail behind them. Those reports are published by the regulator, not by us, and we cannot edit them.
We would rather you read them. A provider that only shows you its good reviews is telling you something by omission.
The five key questions
Every CQC inspection reports on whether a service is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Ratings are published per question, not just overall.
Improvement is public too
Where an inspection identifies something we must do better, the action we are taking is set out in our improvement plan. Ask us for it and we will send it.
Quality assurance
How we check that care is actually good
We ask you, regularly
Client satisfaction is measured through regular monitoring visits and a standard questionnaire sent to people using the service and their carers. Responses are treated confidentially and used to change what we do.
Spot checks and supervision
Coordinators carry out announced and unannounced quality visits, observe practice, and supervise carers against the standards in the care plan.
Records you can see
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, our inspection reports and other documentation. Ask the office and we will arrange it.
Identity checks
Every member of staff carries an identity badge. If you are ever unsure who is at the door, ask to see the badge and call the office on 01634 377 755 to confirm before letting anyone in.
Safe working practice
Carers are not permitted to lift heavy items, stand on furniture or carry out tasks that put them or you at risk. Where a task needs equipment or two people, that is what we arrange.
Data protection
Personal data is stored securely in line with UK GDPR. You can request access to your file at any time, and we will tell you what we hold and why.
Safeguarding
If something is wrong, we escalate it, including about ourselves.
Where a concern suggests that an adult or a child is being abused or neglected, we notify the local authority’s safeguarding team so that it can be investigated independently. That applies whether the concern is about a family member, another agency, or one of our own staff.
Every carer is trained in recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns as part of induction, and it is refreshed. Nobody is expected to decide on their own whether something is serious enough to raise.
Raising a concern outside Rapid Care
You never have to come to us first, and you can go elsewhere at any point in the process.

- The Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman
- The police, where a crime may have been committed
